The factory fuel pump system in the Nissan Z leaves a lot to be desired. The factory system utilizes a small single fuel pump which simply is not enough to support an upgraded HPFP, or aftermarket port injection systems. Our AMS Snailworks® Engineering Team took this as an opportunity to not only increase the total throughput of the fuel pump system, but to do it in such a way that all of the OEM functionality is not just retained, but improved. Gone are the days of being required to keep your fuel tank filled to a minimum of a half tank, hacking up your factory pump basket, or being forced to use an external fuel surge tank mounted in the trunk. Allowing for massive fuel flow, the single pump system supports 800 HP, while the dual pump system is capable of supporting an astounding 1400 HP and is the perfect match for aftermarket port injection systems. Available as a single pump or dual pump system, the AMS Performance Nissan Z In-Tank Fuel Pump System is the perfect solution to meet your fuel delivery needs.
ENGINEERED TO BE THE BEST
AMS Performance is an engineering company first. We have built our over 20 year reputation as a leading motorsports aftermarket component manufacturer by creating the highest performing parts through a focused engineering approach to design. This design method allows us to include features not found in any other kits on the market, including motorsports quality plug-n-play harnesses, engineering thermoplastic replacement pump basket, PTFE fuel lines, AN and quick connect fitting connections, and a CNC machined billet aluminum bulkhead top hat engineered via Solidworks© Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Where others may use low quality components and questionable engineering principles, we have put together a system that rises above the competition, for years of trouble free operation.
Our AMS Snailworks® Engineering Team identified the shortcomings of the factory fuel pump system and seized the opportunity to revolutionize it. The original fuel pump system in the Nissan Z falls short of expectations. Equipped with a small single fuel pump, the factory system lacks the capacity to support higher horsepower levels, and many enthusiasts experience fuel starvation when the tank is below half full. Our solution ensures ample fuel flow, with the single pump system accommodating up to 800 HP, while the dual pump system astonishingly supports 1400 HP, making it an ideal companion for aftermarket port injection systems.
NO MORE FUEL STARVATION UNDER A HALF TANK
The AMS Performance Nissan Z In-Tank Fuel System has been developed by our talented AMS Snailworks® Engineering Team as a complete system, instead of just an add-on pump like our competitors. The benefit of developing a system in this manner is that we can reimagine how the system fits and works together to optimize fuel flow, drivability, and ease-of-use. Our team found a number of components within the factory fuel system which our reimagined AMS fuel system reroutes, removes, or replaces to vastly increase system performance, keeping the fuel pump assembly full of fuel at all times.
A key feature of the AMS In-Tank Fuel Pump System is improved siphon system functionality to combat the extremely common issue of fuel starvation when fuel levels drop below half a tank. This is accomplished by completely redesigning the system from the ground up with a proprietary siphon routing solution. Say goodbye to the inconvenience of maintaining a minimum half tank of fuel or resorting to external surge tanks in the trunk. Our team extended the factory pickup on the left side of the tank and then added an all-new secondary pickup for the right side of the tank to increase overall flow. Both of these pickups have been strategically located at the rear of the tank, accounting for fuel to naturally slosh to the rear when launching or accelerating the vehicle. These siphon pickups deliver fuel directly to the pumps, filling our oversized fuel pump basket at all times – even under demanding racing conditions.
PRODUCT NOTES
