The formula to making a TTE600 starts with a much larger TTE billet compressor wheel, chosen because is highly efficient, new generation type with very thin blades, creating extremely high flow for comparative size, giving a compressor map that's very wide. The Re-Profiled compressor cover is machined to a optimised tolerance to ensure maximum compressor efficiency. The intake pipe is larger and ported to give a smooth transition for the incoming air flow.
A key part to driving the large TTE compressor and in turn making this unit produce the huge power advantage over stock is machining and fitting a far larger curved clipped turbine and shaft, while still keeping the original core. This turbine gives much lower back pressure and keeps EGT lower compared to stock turbine or clipped stock.
The clipping of the turbine. Clipping reduces blade area thus increasing gas flow and so reducing back pressure and lowering exhaust gas temperatures, allowing safer higher boost level's. This process gives a secondary advantage of removing some material, lightening the turbine thus reducing rotational mass improving moment of inertia.
We re-engineer the rattle prone waste gate flapper for a more robust design for trouble free operation.
Equilibrium
Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and the CHRA is dynamically balanced, but this time depending on application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with serial numbered balance test result document.
Turbo Efficiency & Longtivity
We highly recommend to run these turbo at the designed power, which is 600PS(bhp) on pump fuel for maximum longevity and efficiency.
Upgrade your Existing Turbo
To upgrade your existing turbo, you will need to send us your non-damaged turbo. The listing price is the cost of upgrading a non-damaged turbo only. If your turbo is damaged, there may be extra cost on top of the listing price, we will provide you with a quote after inspection. All turbo will be closely inspected before the upgrade is carried out. You will also receive a report from our engineer after the upgrade is completed.
If you cannot send us your turbos
If your turbos is still on the car and you cannot remove them and send it to us prior, you can pay a £250 deposit which will be returned after inspection when you send us your non-damaged turbos. Subject to availability, so please contact us to ensure we have a spare set of turbos that we can sent away.
New Turbos
The New TTE600 begins as a brand new standard N54 turbochargers that we dismantle and then set about upgrading and optimising as engineers to create our ultimate hybrids. TTE600 Turbochargers offer great power and spool for the range of N54 vehicles.
